HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts\.docDelete Keys

  Note: Before you delete these keys, you can take a backup first. Just right click on them, then choose “Export” and find a save location.

  1. Close “Registry Editor” when you finish the above step. Then click “Start”.
  2. Next still click “Control Panel”.
  3. Then click “Programs”.
  4. Next go to “Program and Features”.
  5. Now you are at the “Uninstall or change a program” page. Go to find your Microsoft Office version you use and right click on it.
  6. Then choose “Change”.Find Microsoft Office -> Right Click ->Choose "Change"
  7. Now in the dialog box pops up, just choose “Repair”.
