When you delete some Outlook items mistakenly, you can restore deleted items via following 7 approaches in this article series. This part will introduce three of them at first.
As a regular user of Outlook, I keep deleting useless emails to make my mailbox clean at regular intervals. In the past, I used to verify whether an email is useful depending on its subject. One day I skimmed some emails’ subjects carelessly and accidentally deleted them. Few days later, I discovered that I still needed them. So I considerably look forward to restoring them. After consulting with my friends, I get several methods and eventually succeed. Now I will share the solutions here for your reference.
1. Check Your Deleted Items Folder
When you delete an email or other items in Outlook, by pressing “Win” along with “Delete” or right clicking and selecting “Delete” button, they are just moved to “Delete Items” folder. Thus if so, you can simply head to this folder and finding the email or other items you need. You can restore it by moving it out of “Deleted Items” folder to your desired folder. There is no doubt that this is the most perfect situation.
However, provided you further remove the items from “Deleted Items” or directly delete them pressing a “Ctrl + Delete”, the items must be removed permanently. In other words, you won’t be able to seek them in Outlook. Therefore, you have no choices but to utilize the methods introduced below.
2. Restore Deleted Items via Your Backups
If you have a good habit of making regular backups, it will be much beneficial to restoring the deleted items. You can simply access your Outlook backups and verify whether it contains the deleted ones or not. Note that you cannot open it by double clicking the PST files.
- You should head to “File” menu and select “Open” option.
- Then click “Open Outlook Data File” button. In the subsequent window, you need to select the target backups.
- After returning to Outlook, you can click the data file in navigation pane to check concrete archived items.
It will be good news that you find the deleted items in your backups. But if it still proves failed, you should resort to a potent repair tool.
3. Utilize an Experienced Repair Tool
Though Outlook comes loaded with an Inbox repair tool, it cannot take effects in recovering the deleted items. Hence you need another veteran repair tool such as DataNumen Outlook Repair.
