Using Advanced Exchange Recovery to Convert OST File to PST File

Because Microsoft Outlook cannot open offline folder(OST) file directly, when you need to access the data in OST file, you must convert it into a PST file which can be recognized by Outlook.

Some common situations when you need to convert OST to PST are:

The Exchange mailbox associating with the OST file is unavailable for some reasons and the OST file is orphaned. You need to retrieve the data from it.
The OST file is corrupt or damaged. You want to recover the data in it.
You want to get some data that only exist in the local OST file.

With Advanced Exchange Recovery, you can convert OST file to PST file easily and efficiently, as follows:

Step 1

Start Advanced Exchange Recovery.

Note:

Before converting the OST file to PST file with Advanced Exchange Recovery, please close Microsoft Outlook and any other applications that may access or modify the OST file.

Step 2

Select the OST file to be converted:

You can input the OST file name directly or click button to browse and select the file. You may also click button to find the OST file to be converted on the local computer.

Step 3

By default, Advanced Exchange Recovery will convert the OST file into a new PST file called xxxx_recovered.pst, where xxxx is the name of the source OST file. For example, for source OST file Source.ost, the default converted PST file will be Source_recovered.pst. If you want to use another name, then please select or set it accordingly:

You can input the PST file name directly or click button to browse and select the PST file name.

Step 4

Click button, Advanced Exchange Recovery will start scanning and converting data from the source OST file to the destination PST file. Progress bar will indicate the conversion progress.

After the conversion process, if the data have been converted successfully, you will see a message box like this:

Step 5

Now you can open the converted PST file with Microsoft Outlook and access the data in it.

Note:

The demo version will display the following message box to indicate the success of the conversion:

Then you can open the converted PST file with Microsoft Outlook. However, for each converted message, its contents will be replaced with the following demo information:
