DataNumen Outlook Repair is very easy to use, and we have taken nearly all predictable situations into consideration when developing it. However, in very rare cases, you may still encounter errors or warnings when using it to scan and recover your PST files.
These errors and warnings do NOT mean your PST files are beyond recovery. On the contrary, after solving the problems causing the errors or warnings, you can continue or restart the recovery process again and recover your PST files successfully. The errors and warnings are displayed either in a popup message box, or in the repair log text box. You can utilize these information texts and troubleshoot by yourself, by following the solutions in this help document. Or you can send these information texts to us so that we can diagnose the problem for you.
The difference between an error and a warning is that an error will abort the whole recovery process immediately, while a warning will just remind you a potential problem in the recovery process, and you can decide whether to continue or abort the recovery process.
An error message will have the format of "Error ##: xxxxxxx.", where ## is the error code, and xxxxxxx is a variable text describing the detailed information about the error. For example, in error message "Error 1: Cannot open the file to be repaired. Outlook.pst was not found.", 1 is the error code, and "Cannot open the file to be repaired. Outlook.pst was not found." is the detailed description of the error, which will help you troubleshoot the problem.
A warning message will have the format of "Warning ##: xxxxxxx.", where ## is the warning code, and xxxxxxx is a variable text describing the detailed information about the warning. For example, in warning message "Warning 1: A file named 'Outlook_fixed.pst' already exists. Overwrite it?", 1 is the warning code, and "A file named 'Outlook_fixed.pst' already exists. Overwrite it?" is the detailed warning message, which will help you understand the problem and make the correct decision.
