Recover a mail folder

Outlook Express saves all emails of a mail folder into a corresponding file with a .dbx extension. For example, the emails in Inbox mail folder will be saved in Inbox.dbx. Click here to know more about how to find the dbx file.

If you accidentally delete an email in a mail folder, then you can use DOEU to scan the dbx file corresponding to the mail folder and recover the deleted email from it, as follows:

1.After you have found the dbx file, start DOEU.

2.In "Recovery" page, input or select the mail folder file where the deleted emails are to be recovered. You can click the search button find to search and select the dbx file to be recovered on the local computer.

3.Specify a destination directory in "Output recovered emails to:" text box. All the recovered emails will be saved to this directory.

4.Click "Start Recover" button to start the recovery process. You will see the change in progress bar. If you want to abort the recovery process, click the "Stop Recover" button.

5.After the recovery process, all the emails recovered from the mail folder file will be saved to the destination directory. Then you can import these emails into Outlook Express.

6.You can click the "Save Log" button to save the recovery log into a file. You can include additional information in the log file by selecting the "Include System Information" option in the save file dialog. These information can help our technical supports to diagnose your system and solve your problems more efficiently.

Note:

If you are using a demo version of DOEU, then it will report all the recoverable emails in your dbx file but will not output them. Please order the full version to get the emails.
