Step 2: Set scan options

In this page, you can set the options for the scan process:

Scan and utilize existing file allocation information(for FAT and FAT32, it is the FAT table, for NTFS, it is the MFT table). If selected, then DataNumen Data Recovery will try to utilize the existing file allocation information when performing the recovery. Enable this option will help DataNumen Data Recovery recover more valuable data so it is selected by default.

Scan for folders that are recoverable. If selected, then DataNumen Data Recovery will not only scan for recoverable files, but also scan for recoverable folders. Thus will produce more results. This option is selected by default.

Exhaustive scan disk data for recoverable files. If selected, then DataNumen Data Recovery will also scan the raw disk data exhaustively and search for files of more than 70 known types, by using an internal expert system with extensive knowledge about the characteristics and structures of the file type specifications. Thus will produce more results. However, this process will take a very long time if your hard drive is large. This option is selected by default.

Set Scan File Types. If "Exhaustive scan disk data for recoverable files" option is selected, then "Set Scan File Types" button is enabled and you can click it and select the file types to be checked during the exhaustive scan process.

After you finish setting the scan options, please click "Next" button in the bottom-right corner of the dialog to go to the next step.

Note:

DDR will remember the options the last time you set.
