If the Outlook data files have been stored in a drive or disk in the past, but you cannot retrieve or access them now due to various reasons, then you can use DataNumen Outlook Drive Recovery to scan the drive or disk and recover the emails from it, as follows:
2.In "Recovery" page, in "Select drive or disk to be scanned" combo box, select the drive or disk you wan to scan and recover the Outlook emails and other objects. If you have plugged in or out some removable drives, you can click the refresh button to refresh the drives and disks in the combo box list.
3.Specify the format of the source Outlook data. If you don't know the format of the source Outlook data, then you can select "Auto Determined" so that DODR will determine the Outlook data format automatically.
4.In "Output fixed file as", specify the name of the fixed PST file. During the recovery process, the Outlook data in the source drive or disk will be analyzed, recovered and saved as a new PST file with this name. TO PREVENT OVERWRITING YOUR OUTLOOK DATA ON THE SOURCE DRIVE OR DISK, PLEASE DO NOT SELECT AN FIXED FILE NAME ON THE SOURCE DRIVE OR DISK.
5.Specify the format of the output PST file. If you have Outlook 2003-2013 installed, then the output format can be either Outlook 97-2002 format, or Outlook 2003-2013 format. However, if you have Outlook 97-2002 installed, then you can only specify Outlook 97-2002 format. You may also select "Auto Determined" option so that DODR will output fixed PST file according to the version of Outlook installed on your computer, i.e., the fixed file is in Outlook 97-2000 format if Outlook 97-2002 is installed, or in Outlook 2003-2013 format if Outlook 2003-2013 is installed.
6.Click "Start Recovery" button to start the recovery process. You will see the change in progress bar. If you want to abort the recovery process, click the "Stop Recovery" button.
7.After the repair process, a new fixed file with the name specified in step 4 is generated.
8.You can click the "Save Log" button to save the recovery log into a file. You can include additional information in the log file by selecting the "Include System Information" option in the save file dialog. These information can help our technical supports to diagnose your system and solve your problems more efficiently.
•AS SOON AS THE DATA DISASTER HAPPENS ON YOUR Outlook DATA, PLEASE DO NOT WRITE OR CHANGE ANY DATA ON THAT DRIVE OR DISK WHERE THE OUTLOOK DATA ARE LOCATED ON. THEN YOU CAN USE DODR TO RECOVER YOUR DATA. DODR WILL ONLY READ DATA FROM THAT DRIVE OR DISK AND WILL NEVER WRITE OR CHANGE ANY DATA ON IT!
