Mainly there are two types of hierarchies, Explicit and Derived and are mainly consisted of three entities such as Products, ProductCategory and ProductSunCategory. In MDS, users can select system administration and click on Manage to select the Derived hierarchies.

At this stage, the data is almost ready for publishing but it also requires proper validation as per business rules. In system administration, from the Master Data manager option, select the Business Rules item. Here users can define rules which will be required for validation of master data.
