Part 1: Steps to Set up Page Layout

  1. First and foremost, open your Word to create a new blank document.
  2. Click “Page Layout” on the “Menu Bar”.
  3. Then click “Margins” in “Page Setup” group.
  4. Next choose “Custom Margins” on the list-menu.Click "Page Layout" -> Click "Margins" -> Choose "Custom Margins"
  5. Now the “Page Setup” dialog box will pop up.
  6. Click “Margins” option first.
  7. Set “0” for all margins so you won’t need to crop the paper after printing.
  8. Then choose “Landscape” orientation.Set "0" for All Margins then Choose "Landscape" Orientation
  9. Next click “Paper” option.
  10. Choose a paper size. Here we just choose “A4” for example.
  11. Click “OK”.Click "Paper" -> Choose "Paper Size" -> Click "OK"

Part 2: Steps to Insert a Table

  1. Click “Insert” on the “Menu Bar”.
  2. Then click “Table”.

  4. In “Insert table” dialog box, set “1” for “Number of columns”.
  5. Set “2” for “Number of rows”.

  7. Now click the cross sign on the left corner of the table so as to select the table.
  8. Then right click.
  9. Choose “Table Properties”.Click Cross Sign -> Right Click the Table -> Choose "Table Properties"
  10. In “Table Properties” dialog box, click “Row” first.
  11. Check the “Specify height” box.
  12. Type a number as large as the height of your nameplate holder on the text box next.Click "Row" Option -> Type Size Number
  13. Then click “Column”.
  14. Check “Preferred width” box.
  15. Type a number as large as the width of your nameplate holder.
  16. Click “OK’ to save the change.Click "Column" -> Set the Size -> Click "OK"

Part 3: Steps to Insert WordArt

  1. Lay your cursor at the first row.
  2. Click “Insert”.
  3. Then click “WordArt”.
  4. Choose a style.Click "Insert" -> Click WordArt -> Choose a Style
  5. And input your text.
  6. On the second row, repeat the step 2 to step 5.Insert WordArt Twice
  7. Adjust the positions of both WordArt.
  8. Click the first WordArt.
  9. Put cursor on the green handle.
  10. Then rotate the WordArt 180 degrees clockwise to the following position:Drag the Handle to Rotate Effect after Rotating 180 Degrees Clockwise
  11. Right click the first WordArt.
  12. Choose “More Layout Options”.Right Click the WordArt -> Choose "More Layout Options"
  13. Then click “Text Wrapping”.
  14. Choose “In front of text” for “Wrapping style”.
  15. Click “OK”.
  16. Repeat step 11 to 14 for the second WordArt.

  2. Excellent guide thanks, but it works better for me in Portrait page layout. The other thing is this also works really well with mail merge, if you have a lot of labels to produce. Just make sure you insert your merge fields before step #6, and then just use copy-and-paste to create the text on the second row of the table.
