  1. Worked perfectly for me after creating the rule on outlook.live.com. The steps were a little different than posted:
    1. “Add a condition” dropdown
    a. Select “I’m on the To or Cc line”
(not sure if Cc condition is needed but could be a way for spammers to circumvent this rule?)
    2. “Add an action” dropdowns
    b. Select “Move to” then “Junk Email” in dropdowns respectively
    3. “Add an exception (optional)” dropdowns [in the case of these instructions, not actually optional] #!optional
    a. Select “Sender address includes” then type the “@” character in dropdowns respectively.
    4. Check “Stop processing more rules” checkbox if this truly is the last rule you have in your rules section. (Could prevent some future programming or rule error from borking your rules, just remember to always have this rule run last or uncheck this and check it in your last rule)
    5. Check “Run rule now” if you want to run the rule now on emails that are already in your inbox, no matter how long they’ve been there.

Worked like a charm for me and after checking in my “Junk Email” folder I found it filtered exactly what I wanted it to.

  3. Note these instructions only apply to the New Outlook layout and some instructions need a little update to reflect the current version of the release but I did get it to accept the rule. Let’s see if it works next.

  4. Microsoft should create a rule that deletes all emails without a “from” email address. Or at least puts these in the Junk folder. This should apply to outlook.com

  5. I noticed that these jack asses now are putting an “@” into the sender email address to circumvent this rule. For example: s????h????e????l?????l????? ??????G=E@?????a???????s???

  6. Thank you so much habibi,
Before knowing this rule, I was getting thousands of emails on daily basis without sender addresses.

  7. Why outlook just block all those sender without names, instead of all of us have to go thru all the obstables on your vnh instructions.
