The people of Oz ask Dorothy to be their Queen

1. The offer of Queenship

After Dorothy heroically helps the people of Oz defeat the Wicked Witch of the West, they are filled with gratitude towards her. They gather around her, chanting her name and expressing their desire for her to stay and rule as their Queen. The citizens of Oz see Dorothy as their savior, a powerful and benevolent leader who can bring peace and prosperity to their land.

However, despite the adoration and admiration of the people, Dorothy’s heart is heavy with longing. She yearns to return to her beloved home in Kansas, to be reunited with her Aunt Em and Uncle Henry. The offer of Queenship is tempting, but Dorothy knows where her true happiness lies. As much as she cherishes the friends she has made in Oz and the adventures she has experienced, her heart belongs elsewhere.

Amidst the celebrations and festivities in her honor, Dorothy quietly reflects on her journey and the lessons she has learned. She knows that her place is not on the throne of Oz, but by the side of her family back in Kansas. The people of Oz may offer her the world, but Dorothy’s greatest treasure is the love and warmth of home.

2. Saying goodbye to Oz

After her adventures in the Land of Oz, Dorothy knew it was time to say goodbye to her friends. With a heavy heart, she bid farewell to the Scarecrow, the Tin Woodman, and the Cowardly Lion. They had helped her so much on her journey to find the Wizard and get back home to Kansas.

But one friend decided to stay behind in Oz. Billina, the talking chicken, felt a strong connection to the magical land and its inhabitants. She had found a sense of belonging there and knew that her place was among the creatures of Oz. Dorothy understood Billina’s choice and wished her well in her new home.

As Dorothy prepared to leave, she felt a mixture of emotions. She was sad to leave her friends behind but also eager to return to Aunt Em and Uncle Henry. The thought of seeing familiar faces and sleeping in her own bed brought her comfort.

Before she left, each of her friends gave her a parting gift. The Scarecrow gave her a brain made of pins and needles, the Tin Woodman gave her a heart made of silk, and the Cowardly Lion gave her a tiny golden crown. These tokens would remind her of their time together and the lessons they had learned.

With a final wave, Dorothy clicked her heels together three times and repeated the magic words that would transport her back to Kansas. As she disappeared in a flash of light, she knew she would never forget her incredible journey to the Land of Oz.
